Is Paris Safe For Single Woman
Hello people I will be doing my europe trip start from mid June and the first stop will be. I have read some forums and get an overview - sounds like it isnt that safe for a young women to travel there alone?

I have found some cheaper hostels around train station but some suggest it is considered a quite 'dangerous' place to stay in Paris? Can anyone recommend any cheap hostel at a safer area? I have a very tight budget but safety is my main concern cause family and friends are really worry about me going alone.:( And does anyone know the cheapest way to get to hamburg from paris?
I have got the price around 61 euro on eurorail website. But i wonder if i take some local trains and change at several stops, would it be cheaper than the direct train? Thanks in advance!
In my opinion from what you are saying a local train with changes will take a lot of hours to get from to. Last May we flew from Hamburg to Frankurt and then got the train from to Paris. Yes, it is opposite from what you want to do, but why don't you price it. To me time is valuable when you are there only for a few days. I would get the fastest train I could get to make most of time you have. As to Paris being dangerous, just be aware of what is going on around you.
I have gone many times alone, and have had no problems. I know nothing about hostels, but a lot of people on limited budgets go that route. Just be wise where you are going. Yes there are parts of town, mainly on the outskirts, you should not go alone at night. But all in all, you will be fine.

By far the majority of crime affecting tourists - well over 90% - is petty theft; the kind of thing commonly referred to as pickpocketing but perhaps more accurately described as wallet-lifting. If you go around in a crowded area with your wallet clearly visible and easily got at, then it may be taken. But I assume living in a city you will already know not to have your bag hanging open in the middle of a large crowd of people anyway! The area around is not unsafe, but it is a bit tatty and, like many international train stations, attracts its share of beggars and homeless people.
Really you must be used to all the usual city stuff in Sheffield anyway and if you are going to travel around at all, then Paris is one of the safer places to be in. I think you/your family have been reading too many of the wrong kind of Forums.
Hello all thank you so much for the advices. I am feeling a lot better after this. I have been to few of the europe countries on my own and i always stay very alert and aware of my surrounding. I dont bring anything value with me cause normally i go backpack. When i am on my own, i normally get back to my hostels before 7pm, even that means i will miss all the city night views but i am more concern on my own safety.
But what i am thinking is since june is summer so maybe i will stay a little longer at outside like 8-9pm. So i hope that's fine.
Hello sierrakh, i have tried to search but its more expensive than the direct train. In fact, this is my graduation trip so i would say i have more 'time' than 'money'. Mario party 7 iso download. So i don't mind to take a longer time trains if it is much more cheaper. But i guess so far the euroline is the best price i can get.
